Privacy Policy

Skies is a world clock extension for Chrome. It doesn't have accounts, doesn't collect analytics, and doesn't sell or share personal data. This page covers what the extension stores and which outside services it contacts.

What stays on your device

Your city list, any names you give cities, their order, and your settings are saved in your browser's local storage. Skies also caches each city's sunrise and sunset times for the day. None of this is sent to us, and it's removed when you uninstall the extension.

Services Skies contacts

• City search. The text you type in search is sent to the Open-Meteo Geocoding API to find matching cities.
• Sunrise and sunset. The coordinates and time zone of each city you add are sent to the Open-Meteo Forecast API, about once a day, to pick the color of its card.
• Flags. Country flags in search results load from flagcdn.com.

These requests don't carry any identifier from Skies. As with any web request, these providers can see your IP address.

Feedback

When you uninstall Skies, or choose Send Feedback in its settings, a Google Form opens. Filling it in is optional. Anything you submit is collected by Google Forms and read by us to improve Skies.

This website

useskies.com uses Umami to count visits. Umami doesn't set cookies or collect personal information. It records anonymous details such as the page viewed, the referring site, browser, operating system, device type, and country. This applies to the website only. The extension itself has no analytics.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes basic request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
